Norman Veinott runs an auto body shop near Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He began his career as a folk artist after constructing a figure from discarded auto parts and placing it outside his shop as a decoration. So many people stopped to comment on the figure he began creating more. Currently if you stop by his shop you will see a variety of whimsical, robot-like figures made out of metal, amongst rusted fenders, discarded tires and engines. Unlike most folk artists, who work in wood, Veinott has taken his metal working skillls and applied them to the creation of truly unique folk art sculpture.
